For over thirty-six summers, the Lake Beulah Sailing School (LBSS) has offered sailing and tennis programs to grade and high school age students. The objectives of our programs are:
- To provide students with an appreciation of the pleasure of sailing and/or tennis as both leisure-time and competitive activities
- To develop a high degree of competence in the handling and maintenance of equipment To develop independent problem solving and self-confidence
- To instruct and engender an appreciation of environmental protection and lake preservation and beautification
- To teach applicable rules, laws of the sea, the importance of sportsmanship, team play, and respect for property
This summer, many young sailors will participate in our various Optimist Dinghy and X boat programs. These beginning sailors represent the nucleus of future Laser, C Scow and MC Scow fleets. In collaboration with the Lake Beulah Yacht Club, LBSS will also offer sailing lessons for beginning adults.
As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, LBSS is blessed to be supported by our many business partners, the community at large, members of the Lake Beulah Yacht Club, its Board of Directors, and the Sidestays. Thanks for your continued support. Finally, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to our instructional staff and the LBSS volunteer Board of Directors. These individuals and their families invest countless hours to ensure the continued success of our LBSS programs. Jeff Hudson, President
